The successful candidate will have comprehensive medical and surgical expertise in the identification, work up, and treatment of adult and pediatric ophthalmic diseases, and be an experienced surgeon who can expertly teach residents cataract surgery. Operating room time at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and designated chartered surgical facilities is available.
Participation in the regional ophthalmology call schedule onsite at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and monthly clinics at the Royal Alexandra Hospital is required. Candidates with a proven track record of publication in peer reviewed journals with research and clinical teaching experience will be prioritized. Participation in clinical and university committees is expected.
Applicants must be licensed in good standing, or eligible for licensure, with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). Candidates will have completed a residency in ophthalmology and be expert in cataract surgery. Additional subspecialty training is an asset but not essential.
