Practice for Sale – Newmarket, Ontario

(posted February 14, 2022)
This is an excellent opportunity for an ophthalmologist to take over a busy, lucrative, comprehensive practice in Newmarket, Ontario, as the owner is planning to retire. Newmarket is located in York Region, north of Toronto and is part of the Greater Toronto Area. The owner is a general, comprehensive ophthalmologist that stopped doing cataract surgery five years ago. However, the practice continues to generate a number of cataract referrals that could possibly be serviced by the purchaser at one of the local private cataract centers in the area. This practice does not come with surgical privileges although the owner currently performs laser procedures at Southlake Regional Health Centre, which is one block away from the office.  There are three associates generating revenue for the practice. These include a retina specialist and two optometrists. Together they cover the majority of the office overhead. The office has three complete lanes, a room for an ophthalmic assistant and pretest areas. The major pieces of equipment include an OCT, two visual field machines, and an IOL master. The secretary and ophthalmic technician are both excellent and have been with the practice for over ten years. The ophthalmic assistant and bookkeeper are family members of the owner and they will not be staying on to work for the new owner.Interested physicians can contact us in confidence at [email protected].
