The University of Calgary invite applications for 2 Oculoplastic and Orbit Specialist. Qualifications include MD, certification by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Ophthalmology or equivalent, with a minimum one or two year accredited oculoplastic and orbit fellowship. Special interest and training in pediatric plastics is an asset. Leadership and medical educational experience is considered an asset. Applicants must be eligible for licensure with the CPSA.
There will be access to operating time at the adult and children's hospital, and the chartered surgical facilities. There will be an obligation to commit to clinics at the hospital. They will also be required to participate in the city wide on-call schedule. The successful candidate will participate and provide clinical and surgical care for the adult and pediatric population. There is an expectation to collaborate and support the current oculoplastic team and participate in complex cases with multiple services.
The candidate will be expected to apply for a clinical appointment and to participate in medical student, resident, and fellowship teaching, including direct clinical and surgical teaching and didactic lectures.They will also be expected to have academic output in the form of research, education, and administration. The candidate will contribute to departmental initiatives by serving on committees, attending meetings, and undertaking administrative responsibilities as assigned.
