The University of Calgary invite applications for 2 Ophthalmologists – Cornea Specialist. Qualifications include an MD, certification by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Ophthalmology or equivalent, with a minimum one year accredited cornea and external disease fellowship. Special interest and training in pediatric cornea would be an asset. Leadership and educational experience is considered an asset. Applicants must be eligible for licensure with the CPSA.

The candidate will be expected to provide care to cornea patients both medically and surgically to adult and pediatric patients. There will be access to operating time at chartered surgical facilities according to section policy. There will be an obligation to commit to clinics at the hospital. There will be access to operating time at the hospital on a catch and release. The successful candidate will receive a cataract allocation according to section policy. They will also be required to participate in the general ophthalmology on-call group.

They will be expected to apply for a clinical appointment and to participate in medical student, resident, and fellowship teaching, including direct clinical and surgical teaching and didactic lectures. They will also be expected to have academic output in the form of research, education, and administration. The candidate will contribute to departmental initiatives by serving on committees, attending meetings, and undertaking administrative responsibilities as assigned.
