North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) is seeking a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join its collaborative, patient-focused team in North Bay, Ontario. The successful candidate will have dedicated OR access for cataract surgery, including 1–2 operating days per week, as well as opportunities to participate in minor procedures. Clinical practice will be based in a state-of-the-art ophthalmology clinic opened in 2025, featuring six ophthalmic lanes, advanced technology, and comprehensive support from experienced technicians, MOAs, and healthcare professionals.
This position offers a team-based practice environment, flexibility to develop areas of professional interest, and 1-in-4 community call coverage. Strong mentorship is available for new graduates transitioning into independent practice.
Compensation includes OHIP billings, Northern Specialist APP and hospital on-call stipends, along with a competitive incentive package featuring:
$25,000 recruitment stipend
$25,000 practice start-up grant
Moving expense assistance
Up to $94,000 through the Northern Rural Recruitment & Retention Initiative (NRRRI)
Candidates must hold Royal College certification in Ophthalmology and be eligible for independent practice with the CPSO.
