Locum needed for 3-6 months (flexible) in a busy office for general ophthalmology and glaucoma care. Access to OCT, YAG/SLT, VF, IOLM and Zeiss Forum, in the office. Some surgical time may be provided. Will have to do 1-2 call weeks on rotation during the locum period. Must have BC Licensure, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, CMPA and BC MSP billing #.

Locum opportunity available for comprehensive surgical ophthalmologist in Powell River, BC

Exciting two-week locum opportunity from 18 – 29 April 2022 available for a Comprehensive Surgical Ophthalmologist in Powell River, a city on the northern Sunshine Coast of BC. Where endless green mountains meet sheltered Pacific Ocean waters, Powell River provides a stimulating blend of outdoor adventure and cultural amenities. With only a 25-min short flight from Vancouver, Powell River is also accessible by road and breathtaking views await you from the ferry. Known for its dynamic cultural life and outdoor recreation including hiking, camping and kayaking with excellent fishing and superb scuba diving.

The clinic is fully staffed with two examination lanes as well as the latest equipment including OCT, IOL Master, Topography, HFA3, Fundus photography, Carl Zeiss Laser etc. Ritter table-top sterilizer on-site for in-office procedures like intra-vitreal injections. Two full OR slates available on Wednesdays at the Powell River General Hospital. Cataract surgery, Pterygium, Blepharoplasties, Lacrimal duct procedures etc. are often performed.

Compensation Billing Split at 65/35. Powell River’s Rural Retention Program (RRP) set at 9.66%, added to each claim. Free basement parking at the clinic. Hours of work weekdays 8:30 am to 5 pm, clinic is closed for lunch daily from 12pm to 1pm. After-hour calls depending on your availability.

Requirements: Current College of Physicians of BC License (CPSBC) (Full), Mandatory Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), Mandatory Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC).
