COS/Coherent - AMT Award
for Excellence in Ophthalmological Research

Information
COS is pleased to offer awards to deserving Residents, Fellows, or Medical Students who have conducted research at Canadian university centres. While some preference will be given to the topic of laser technology, abstracts on any topic in ophthalmology will be given serious consideration.

Closing date... December 15, 2002

Format
The standard abstract submission form is to be used. It should be clearly identified on the abstract that the paper is to be considered for the COS/Coherent-AMT Award. More than one submission per entrant will be allowed. Department Head and Supervisor will be contacted to ensure applicant was involved in the majority of the work presented in the abstract. Winners must attend the annual meeting to present their paper.

Award
The winner will receive a grant of $3,000 to cover the cost of presenting the paper or poster at the annual meeting of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society. Second and third prizes of $1,500 will also be offered. Cheques will be issued to the university of applicant.

Recognition
Winners will be notified early February, contributions will be identified in the Annual Meeting Program and from the podium.

Publication
It is anticipated that winning entries will be submitted for publication in the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology. For information on how to submit an article to the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, contact the COS office or click here.
