    Abstracts

What if I cannot present my Abstract?

As a presenting author you are required to register (and pay any applicable fees) and present your abstract. If you are not able to present your abstract, you may delegate this responsibility to a co-author. You must notify the COS of any changes in writing; fax to (613-729.7209) or email [email protected]. There is no fee for withdrawing an abstract, however, failure to attend and present, and notify the COS of your withdrawal, will result in your ineligibility to submit an abstract for following years.

    REGISTRATION

What is the deadline for meeting registration?

Registrations will be accepted until Friday, May 19 2006. After May 19, you must register online or onsite at the meeting. There will be a late fee of $75 for all registrations received after this date.

I paid my membership dues when I submitted my abstract. Do I still need to register?

Annual Meeting Registration is not automatic. All Annual Meeting attendees, Presenters, Guests, Exhibitors, and attendees, etc. must register and pay any applicable fees.

Can my family/friends attend the Annual Meeting?

Immediate family members of COS members may attend but need to be included on the delegates registration form. This will entitle them to attend all COS scientific sessions, exhibits, Welcome Reception. Children 16 and under may accompany their parents at no charge. Anyone who would normally pay a fee to attend may not register as a Guest.

Can Industry (commercial) staff attend the meeting as a delegate?

No. Only registered exhibiting company staff may attend the meeting.

Is there a "One-day" registration fee?

No. All attendees must register for the full Meeting.

What do I do if I lose my Meeting name badge?

Go to the on-site Registration Desk to request a replacement name badge.

    Meeting Publications

When will I receive the program?

A brief Advance Program is available on the meeting website. A paper copy will be mailed to all Canadian ophthalmologists, COS members and registered delegates in December. The Final Program will be mailed to all registered delegates in April. The individual sessions will be posted to the website as they are confirmed.

You must bring your copy of the Final Program with you to the Meeting. Only limited copies will be available on-site.

The authors and titles (not full text) will be published in the final program (April). Abstracts will be posted online in August as an addendum to the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology.
