In December, COS was represented by Duncan Anderson, Chairman of the Vision Standards Committee and Executive Director, Hubert Drouin at a meeting of the Canadian Council for Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) Medical Directors in Ottawa to consider recommendations regarding driving standards.

These recommendations, once approved by the CCMTA will be forwarded to the CMA for publication in Determining Medical Fitness to Drive, a guide for physicians. The full text of the current standards can be downloaded from the COS website (www.eyesite.ca). The final recommendations will be forwarded to each provincial Ministry of Transport for their consideration and implementation in their respective provinces.
