CAPOS and COS Support Royal College Position Statement on Early Childhood Development

In recognition of the pivotal role of eye and vision health in the development of children, the Canadian Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (CAPOS) in conjunction with the Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS) want to acknowledge our unequivocal support for the Position Statement on Early Childhood Development issued by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada:

This document was developed with national experts from a number of organizations involved in the science and care of early childhood development and it offers fifteen actionable steps for governments, educators, professional organizations and health care providers. Indeed we agree that these actions have been proven to yield benefits throughout life that are worth many times their original investment.

We recognize the importance of vision screening in all age groups as referenced in the COS guidelines, available here: Clinical Practice Guidelines
